Mrs. Dorsey
Science, Sports, Accelerated Programs, Religion, Theology, Baltimore Catechism, & more
Mrs. Dorsey is OLFA’s SCIENCE MASTER, following twenty years in Federal law enforcement, her experience entails another 20 years of teaching multiple disciplines of science, including but not limited to Accelerated Physical Science and AP Biology, Earth Science, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, and Astronomy. She was selected "Conservation Teacher of the Year" for Washington County (ME) Soil Conservation and for the State of Maine High Schools in 1994. Mrs. Dorsey holds a Master’s degree in Science Education along with other degrees and certifications in Secondary Education: Broadfield Sciences, Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences, Fisheries Technology, and Geology. Recently, she was certified in Biology and Earth/Space Science with the Florida Department of Education and still holds certifications in Life Sciences and Physical Sciences with Maine’s Department of Education.
As an instructor, she has created and advised both a National Ocean Science Bowl Team and an Envirothon Team.
Mrs. Dorsey is thrilled to return to her passion for teaching and additionally plans to utilize her experience coaching cross-country running team and girls’ varsity tennis to benefit students at OLFA.

Mrs. Sanchez
Forensic Science, Music, English, Literature, ELA, Psychology, & more
Mrs. Sanchez is an experienced educator and DOCTORAL student in EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP with a focus on technology integration. She brings more than a decade of teaching experience in science and psychology across secondary grade levels, including work in integrative and inclusion classrooms. Mrs. Sanchez holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. She has extensive experience in curriculum development aligned with Florida CPALMS standards, project-based learning, and the integration of a biblical worldview within a Christian school setting. Mrs. Sanchez is passionate about fostering academic growth, supporting twice-exceptional learners, and preparing students for college and future careers. Her dedication to education has been recognized through the 2023–2024 Tampa Bay Times Honorable Mention Educator of the Year and the 2024–2025 Grand Prize Educator of the Year awards. As an experienced leader and program organizer, she emphasizes innovative, research-based, student-centered instruction while cultivating strong school culture, inclusion, and meaningful family engagement.
Outside the classroom, Mrs. Sanchez enjoys music and plays multiple instruments across the brass, woodwind, and percussion families. She enjoys teaching beginning band students how to read music and explore different instruments. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting theme parks and spending time with her family.
